Import The Sample Email Template
ActiveCampaign provides a large library of pre-designed templates, most of which you don’t actually need because they’re more suited to corporate-style newsletters.
It’s been shown time and again that simple text emails are far more effective at engaging your subscribers than fancy-looking templates filled with banners and graphics.
To get you started, I created a simple text template for you. This is still an HTML email, which means you can track opens and clicks etc., but the content appears as plain text to the recipient.
Here’s how to add the template to your ActiveCampaign library:
- Click “Campaigns” in the main menu…
- Click on “Manage Templates” (the blue button on the left, just below the main menu)…
- Click on “New Template” (the green button at the top right)…
You should see the following box:

The add template dialog box…
- Click on “Or import a template” at the bottom left…
- Enter the following URL: http://tplshare.com/84LNurn and click “OK”…
- The next screen you see should be the message editor with the email preloaded…
- You don’t need to do anything at this point, just click “Save & Exit”…
