Dad’s dream at this time in his well-lived life with his sweet wife, was to create a family vacation home.
He grew up in a rural area on the family ranch and he drew on those memories to create a new version of that with barns and fields and split rail fences — and a gorgeous Americana looking home.
It’s somewhere the family could be unplugged and the grown kids gather together with their own young families.
The siblings, who know each other’s quirks, love the time to kid each other, laugh and catch up.
Young ones come to know each other and play like their parents did with extended family close by.
Nothing is better than the seeing the grand-kids run through the fields and dig in the dirt and come back to get grandma and grandpa hugs and warm cookies and milk.
After our visit to the ranch, the walls of the family vacation home showcase in a series of portraits, the time they gathered together: grown-ups, kids, family dogs and all on the 4th of July.
It is a moment of polish and perhaps sentiment that makes their hearts happy… reminders of the day and family love in portraits to enjoy for years to come.
