“Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way...” Emma Chase
To have a sister to travel with is one of life’s greatest experiences.
When Sarah and Laurel joined my Sisters Project, I was thrilled to be able to photograph them where they grew up.
These two young ladies travel together often when they aren’t busy helping out on the family farm and working their own careers.
Focusing our session around the road-trip theme, we had so much fun that evening, changing locations from sitting on suitcases on the old gravel driveway, to playing on hay bales, to sitting in the truck junkyard!
With the help of my friend, Nancy, we moved all around their parents’ and grandparents’ farms watching the light play on them in the early evening light. And we had such amazing light at the end of the day!
We even played with a few props to add to their road-tripping theme. Sarah and Laurel are sisters whose laughter was contagious, and the closeness they shared showed in every image.
These young ladies have many more great adventures awaiting them.
