4 CORE PRINCIPLES BEHIND THE PRIME FOCUS LAB
Are you a professional photographer, working full-time or part-time to grow your business?
Are you overwhelmed by marketing, or you don’t know what to work on first?
Would you like to become a better communicator and create compelling marketing that attracts more of the right clients?
If so, make yourself at home because this is where you’ll find all the information, help, and resources you need to make your marketing work for you to generate qualified leads and get more clients.
Why Does The Prime Focus Lab Exist?
One thing is as true today as it’s always been:
As a professional photographer, you are way too valuable to the world to be allowed to fail in business…
I also believe:
- Great photography adds enormous value and meaning to the world…
- Being paid what you’re worth is not a myth…
- Creating meaningful marketing should not be complicated…
The Prime Focus Lab exists to make sure you continue to serve the clients who love you, and was founded on four core principles:
1: Simple: Clear. Concise. Efficient
I help you become a better communicator and simplify your marketing because you have more important things to do than waste valuable time getting tangled up in complicated and flawed marketing systems.
2: Motivational: Inspiration. Confidence. Catalyst
My goal at the Prime Focus Lab is to inspire you with the confidence you need to take the action required to become a successful photographer. This is the secret power of the great community inside the coaching group.
3: Purposeful: Passionate. Deliberate. Focused
The Prime Focus Lab is your guide on the journey to turn your passion for photography into a real business. Everything here is designed to help you take deliberate, focused action to get you where you want to be.
4: Disruptive: Non-Conformist. Rebellious. Truth-Seeking
You won’t find the usual industry Kool-Aid in here because the marketing strategies most photographers take for granted no longer work. Question everything, and stop conforming to the industry “norm”.
Charles Mingus Sums Things Up Nicely
Making the simple complicated is commonplace. Making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity…
There’s always a temptation in marketing to make it complicated for the sole reason that we often imagine it should be complicated because it’s sometimes so hard to get right.
Instead of falling into this trap, I help you to eliminate any unnecessary complications and distractions, and focus instead on keeping things simple.
Who Is Nigel Merrick?
I’m based near Memphis, Tennessee (the land of Elvis and good ol’ southern BBQ!), but am originally from the Birmingham area of the UK. After a long career in IT, I became an underwater photographer in 1999, and then a portrait & wedding photographer in 2004 when I first came to the US.
In 2008, I started coaching professional photographers to feed my passion for SEO (search engine optimization), websites, social media, blogging, and anything to do with marketing photography online and running a successful business, and have been writing, podcasting, and teaching ever since.
Again, I want to welcome you to The Prime Focus Lab, and I would love to guide you on your journey to simplify and improve your photography marketing.
This is a journey best taken with someone who understands the challenges you face along the way, and who can steer you clear of the many pitfalls most photographers fall into.
In addition to coaching, I also love to write marketing books. For example:
- Zero To Booked (sole author)…
- Selling Fine Art Photography (sole author)…
- How To Compete With Cheaper Photographers Without Lowering Your Prices (sole author)…
- Word of Mouth Marketing For Wedding And Portrait Photographers (sole author)…
- Starting Your Career As A Freelance Photographer (contributing author)…
There’s a lot of material here, and I want to help you get the very best out of it depending on where you are in your business today.
I’ve built up quite a library of articles since 2008 on many topics, including SEO (search engine optimization), blogging for photographers, social media marketing, websites, landing pages, email marketing, and a whole lot more.
Let’s take the first steps to your success!
